Child Health Nursing is a specialized field of nursing that focuses on the healthcare and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents from birth through developmental stages. This branch of nursing prepares students to provide comprehensive care for children by understanding their physical, emotional, psychological, and developmental needs. Students are trained in pediatric care, growth and development assessment, nutrition, immunization, disease prevention, and management of childhood illnesses. Child Health Nursing also emphasizes family-centered care, effective communication, and compassionate support to ensure healthy growth and quality healthcare for children in hospitals and community settings.

Objectives

  • To provide knowledge of pediatric and child healthcare principles.

  • To train students in caring for infants, children, and adolescents.

  • To develop skills in monitoring child growth and development.

  • To educate students on childhood nutrition and immunization practices.
